“Hello Body”

Let’s talk about our bodies - these amazing vessels we get to experience life in. Many of us spend little time appreciating our bodies. But every moment of our lives, they are working hard to supply each and every cell with nutrients, produce and metabolise hormones, clear waste, repair cells - the list goes on. All these amazing biochemical processes occur even though we are not consciously aware of them. The body is constantly working and strives for a state of homeostasis - balance. For example, if our temperature gets too high or low it works via negative feedback loops (to cool us down or warm us up) to bring the body back to balance. When things in the body are out of balance ‘dis-ease’ occurs.

What can we do to help achieve this state of balance? It is not about eating the most recent 'superfood', following the latest fad diet or popping a pill in the hope things will change. We need to create an environment which supports the body in this process and do this consistently for long term wellbeing. Depending on the imbalance this could be through changes in nutritient intake and supplements to correct deficiencies, better sleep hygiene, finding a movement practice which nourishes instead of depletes the body. Listen to your body. It is always communicating to you.

By working with clients I help to identify the root cause of health imbalances and work with them to make changes to their internal and external environment to support optimal health. Get in touch if you would like a 15 minute chat to talk through your health concerns.
