Natural Antibacterial Cleaning Spray

Cleaning products for the home can be so easy to make and chemical free 🧼 not to mention so much cheaper than shop bought brands.

Many standard shop bought cleaning products are full of toxic chemicals and fragrances (the latter of which companies don’t have to disclose the ingredients for) 🤔

To reduce your toxic load, have a go at making your own antibacterial cleaning spray - a good way of keeping toxins down in the home, especially if you experience any hormonal issues, or have children and pets.

What you need:

  • An empty spray bottle (you can recycle one from another eco brand)

  • Water

  • Distilled vinegar (less than £1 to buy) - this has antibacterial properties

  • 15 drops of your favourite essential oil or a mix of a few of these i.e. lavender, lemon, rosemary, tea tree, grapefruit, peppermint

How to make it:

  • You need equal measures of water and vinegar, so fill the bottle 1/2 water and the other 1/2 vinegar

  • Add 10- 15 drops of your favourite essential oil(s)

  • Give it a good shake, and then it’s ready to use* (the vinegar can be abrasive, so it is not advised to use on delicate surfaces)

  • The vinegar can smell quite strong, so use water to wipe down the surfaces afterwards
