Spiced Turmeric Latte *recipe*

The change in seasons and going into the colder months, definitely calls for more warming food and drink.

Hereโ€™s how to make my Spiced Turmeric Latte (quantities are per person). Perfect as an afternoon alternative to tea/coffee (or any form of caffeine), plus it includes added protein from the collagen to sustain energy levels. Itโ€™s also great to have in the evening to aid sleep ๐Ÿ›Œ

What youโ€™ll need

  • 1 cup of milk (full fat organic or an alternative milk of your choice)

  • 1/2 a cinnamon stick

  • 1/4 teaspoon of organic turmeric

  • 1 heaped tsp of grass-fed collagen

  • Pinch of ground black pepper

  • Pinch of ground nutmeg

  • Pinch of cayenne pepper

  • Pinch of ground cinnamon (optional)

  • Maple syrup as a sweetener (optional)

How to make it:

  1. Add a splash of water to a saucepan, then add the milk and cinnamon stick and leave to simmer on a medium heat for 5 minutes

  2. Meanwhile add to a cup the rest of the ingredients

  3. Pour the hot milk into the cup and mix well (using a mini whisk / fork)

  4. Sprinkle with cinnamon and add a dash of maple syrup if desired (although itโ€™s naturally sweet without this)
