Break the rules and buck the trends when it comes to breakfast

When we think of breakfast what comes to mind - toast, cereal, pastries, porridge, tea, coffee...maybe a bacon sandwich or full English? Typical breakfast items, right? 🍳

But breakfast isn’t limited to specific foods. If we look at other cultures and countries they traditionally have a wide variety of foods for breakfast e.g. congee in China, fish curry with rice in Sri Lanka, pho in Vietnam 🍲

So what is breakfast? It can be anything! We have been sold an idea by big breakfast brands that it should look a certain way i.e. cereal with milk, but this is a modern concept.

Breakfast essentially means breaking the fasted state our body has been in from sleeping. When we get up and eat we literally 'break the fast'.

So explore different foods at breakfast and have fun experimenting. It could look like a broth, veggies with a protein, something you’ve batch cooked etc. Absolutely anything. My tip would be just make sure it's going to nourish your body and include some good quality protein to keep you satiated.
