Store cupboard staples

Nothing in the fridge? When you ‘run out of food’...
😩

When you haven’t quite got around to that next food shop, it’s great to have your kitchen cupboard stocked with dried ingredients / staples so you can rustle up a quick meal if needed 😅 e.g. I made a quick meal from @sabrinaghayour ‘Persiana’ cookbook the other day with what was just from my cupboard 🙃

So I thought I’d share my go-to cupboard staples:
- Brown rice
- Basmati rice
- Dried red lentils (quick to cook and no need to soak before cooking)
- Tins of beans / legumes i.e. chickpeas, black beans
- Tins of tomatoes
- Coconut milk
- Rice noodles
- Tahini

Plus, so many different spices and herbs, as they add instant flavour to any simple dish 💛My favourite ones are below...
- Moroccan or Persian flavour: cumin, cinnamon, turmeric, coriander, ras el hanout or dried mint
- Indian meals: cumin, turmeric, coriander, curry powder, garam masala, chilli powder or flakes
- Middle Eastern flavour: dukkah, zaatar and sumac
- Bay leaves for stocks and stews
- Dried oregano, thyme or rosemary for bolognaise or roasted potatoes and vegetables
